The
Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy in his address to the
Station Commanders of Central Air Command said that the Indian Air Force
has a vital role to play in today’s security scenario for which highest
degree of professionalism is the need of the hour. He stressed that no
individual can be strong unless the institution is strong. It is,
therefore, incumbent on all personnel to contribute to the strengthening
of the institution of the IAF through a continuous upgradation of their
professional knowledge and skills.
The
Chief of Air Staff exhorted the commanders to continuously communicate
with the personnel. He told the commanders that all personnel of the IAF
are united by the bond of trust and faith and all commanders must extend
this faith down to the last man in the unit. The Air Chief Marshal later
gave away trophies to the Air Force stations which excelled in various
fields. Air Force station, Gwalior was awarded the Pride of Central Air
Command Trophy for best performance.
The Air Chief, accompanied by his wife Mrs Harveen
Krishnaswamy, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA)
visited Air Force station, Bamrauli. The Air Chief was received by Air
Marshal BM Bali, AOC-in-C, Mrs Brinda Bali, President AFWWA(R) and
Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters, Central Air Command.
Mrs Harveen Krishnaswamy addressed Presidents AFWWA
(Local) of stations under the command. In her address, she advised that
Presidents of AFWWA(L) to continue work for the welfare of the Air Force
personnel. She awarded a trophy and cash prize of Rs 20000 each to AF
School, Gwalior and the station medical centre, Bamrauli for the year
2002-03. She also inaugurated Meena Bazar where items from AFWWA(L)
of all stations under the command were displayed.
