Air Cmde KC Kuruvilla, Deputy Commandant, Air Force Academy, Dundigal gave away the prizes to the winners of 50th Air Force Aquatic Championship 2000-2001 held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal.

In the aquatic championship, Sgt Sushima Singh of Air Headquarters clinched his second gold of the meet clocking 2:52.56 in the 300 mtrs breast stroke. Cpl Ravi K of Western Air Command stood second clocking 3:10.01 followed by Cpl Jaychandran of Training Command 3:13.25. In the 200 mtrs butterfly event, Sgt Sardar HN of Western Air Command surged ahead of jwo Rajagopal to claim gold medal.

The overall swimming championship winners’ trophy went to Training Command (236 points). Western Air Command bagged the runner’s up trophy (165 points) and Air Headquarters claimed the diving championship trophy.
