  Passing Out Parade
 


The passing out parade of the 55 Kazhakootam Sainik School cadets was held at the school parade ground. The Southern Air Command Chief, Air Marshal MS Sekhon who was the chief guest of the function, reviewed the parade. In his address to the cadets, Air Marshal MS Sekhon exhorted them to take challenges in life and keep themselves physically and mentally fit.

The passing out parade was led by Cadet Captain Aravind Balachandran. Mrs Parminder Sekhon, Air Vice Marshal Harimohan, Air Cmde SC Kumar, Station Commander, Brig SN Handa, Sainik School Principal, Cdr Paul Abraham, Lt Col JA Rocque and others attended the function. Mrs Parminder Sekhon inaugurated an exhibition at the school premises.

Naval Ships in Thiruvananthapuram

Two Indian Naval Ships, INS Malvan and INS Mulki of the Inshore Mine Sweeper Squadron
visited Vizhinjam Port in Thiruvananthapuram. The visit was to familiarise the local population with the Indian Navy and naval ships. The ships were open to the general public. Local population including students and children visited the ships and evinced keen interest.

Lt Cdrs Jatinder Singh, SKS Kadian and JN Vivek Miranda explained the features of these ships to the public.

INS Malvan was commissioned at Kochi is May 1983 and INS Mulki was commissioned in May 1984. The ships form part of the Southern Naval Command. The ships have been named after the ports of Malvan and Mulki.
