  A 90th Anniversary of the Signal Corps
   
 

The 90th raising day anniversary of the Corps of Signals was celebrated at Lucknow. Maj Gen G B Tripathi, the Chief Signal Officer, Central Command laid wreaths at "Smritika", the war memorial.

A special sainik sammelan was organised at the Central Command Signal Regiment. It was presided over by Col I S Chowdhary, CO. Addressing all ranks, Col Chowdhary commended all personnel for their hard work and dedication. He also felicitated 40 Army personnel and their civilian counterparts for their special contributions.

Prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted during the year were also distributed at the sainik sammelan. The Commanding Officer's Banner for overall best performance went to 1Coy which topped in volleyball, basketball, football, hockey, rifle shooting and family quarter competitions. The coveted banner was received by Maj Milan Shinde on behalf of the winning company. Messages received from dignitaries were also read out to troops.
