The trekker's team led by Maj Jaspreet Singh crossed seven passes of height between 17000 ft and 18300 ft. This expedition, namely Gunners Sikkim High Altitude Operational Trek (Gunshot), was flagged off at Tsomgo in East Sikkim.

While talking to mediapersons during flag-in ceremony the team leader said, ‘it was a great experience’. The trekkers have had to wade through numerous swollen streams and rivulets and survive subzero temperature. Covering 25 to 30 kms each day, they crossed Dongkya La (18,300 ft), Sesela (18,200 ft), Bamchola (17000 ft), Kongrala (17000 ft), Lungnakla (16,800), Theula (17000 ft) and Gochala (16,350). These are the important passes located in glaciated region of North-East and West Sikkim.

While flagging the expedition in, Maj Gen K C Vig, the General Officer Commanding, 17 Mountain Division said the motto of expedition, "Flora-Fauna-Friendship" caught the attention of the Government of Sikkim and stressed the need for a better relationship between the Army and civilians.
