Sep Manoj Kumar was killed on June 17 last in Surankot of Poonch district. Five militants were killed and two Indian soldiers including Sep Manoj Kumar laid down their lives in the encounter.

The mortal remains of Sep Manoj Kumar of 10 Madras (25 RR) was brought to Trivandrum and was received with full military honours at Air Force Air Base, Shanghumugham. After general salute by the soliders of 17 Madras defence officers representing various services and units laid wreath. Later the mortal remains were taken to Kalliyoor. Twenty-five year old Sep Manoj Kumar is the son of an ex-serviceman.

Hav Radhakrishnan was killed in a daring attack on the militant’s hide out in J&K in which 5 militants were also killed.

The mortal remains of Hav K Radhakrishnan of 10 Madras Regiment was brought to Trivandrum and was received with full military honours at Air Force Station Air Base, Shanghumugham. After general salute by 17 Madras Regiment, homage was paid by Brig SN Handa, Station Commander, Pangode Military Centre and others. Later the martyr was cremated with full military honours at his native village. Hav Radhakrishnan is survived by his wife, Mrs Beena Rani and son Master Yedukrishnan.

Grenadier Nimba Ram was killed in an encounter with terrorists on July 5, last in Srinagar. Grenadier Nimba Ram killed three terrorists with his rifle and two terrorists by throwing grenades.

On arrival at Jodhpur airport, the mortal remains were received with full military honours. Senior military and civil officials paid tributes by laying wreath.
