At Home

Air Force Association (AFA) has been in the forefront in serving the interests of officers and PBORs, (persons below officer ranks) after their retirement from service. In this direction, AFA has set up a Senior Citizens Home at Tughlakabad, Delhi.

The "Home" enables the Air Force personnel and their spouses stay here after their retirement, particularly when they are left insecure due to inadequate family support.

Housed in a four-storey building "Senior Citizens Home" has two wings, one for officers and one for PBORs, each having 37 furnished rooms. The facilities include mess, laundry, bar and card room. Accommodation is on a"pay and stay" basis. Anyone seeking admission has to apply in the prescribed registration form. A demand draft drawn in favour of "Senior Citizens Home, New Delhi" for Rs 10,000 by an officer and Rs 6,000 by a PBOR is to be submitted along with the application. The application form can be obtained from AFA and Senior Citizens Home. This registration fee is non-refundable. The members cleared for admission have to pay a one time licence fee–Rs 2.5 lakh for officers and Rs 1.99 lakh for PBORs.

Those approved for admission have to pay in advance the prescribed security and allied charges and licence fee. Security deposit for officers is Rs 50,000 and for PBORs Rs 30,000. Charges for water, electricity, telecom, video, laundry, cafeteria, dining, bar facilities and other service are to be paid on the basis of individual consumption. There is a provision for providing an attendant on extra payment. Air Force personnel coming on a visit to Delhi can also stay here for a short period.
