Music From the Sky

 
 

The IAF band presented Air Warriors in Concert for the first time in Kolkata under the aegis of Eastern Air Command. Two concerts were conducted, one at the grand Science City Auditorium and the other at the magnificient sprawling lawns of Victoria Memorial.

The band first performed at Science City Auditorium to an audience of 2200. Mr Viren J Shah, Governor of West Bengal was the chief guest at the concert. He was received by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy, accompanied by Air Marshal MB Madon, AOC-in-C, Eastern Air Command and Mrs Yasmin Madon, President, AFWWA (Regional). Following day, the band performed at Victoria Memorial. The performance received overwhelming appreciation by a large number of distinguished guests.

On this occasion, a photo exhibition on IAF was set up at the venue which was appreciated by one and all. The air warriors were successful in reaching the audience through music. The audience were enthralled by the melody and the mesmerising variety of their music.

Later, Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy delivered the closing address. In his address, he said that the aim of the concert was to bring the air warriors and civilians closer. The Governor congratulated the IAF band for presenting a wide variety of music.
