Passing-out Parade at Avadi

 
 

Altogether, 423 mechanical transport driver trainees passed out of the Mechanical Transport Training Institute (MTTI), Air Force station, Avadi in Chennai at an impressive parade.

Air Cmde SK Karmaker, AOC, AF station, Tambaram took the salute and presented trophies to the best drivers. The parade was commanded by Aircraftman Syam Bihari who was adjudged best in general service training. Leading Aircraftman A Gupta was declared the best all-rounder. Leading Aircraftman Ram Swaroop topped in trade.

These trainees, after the completion of a 24-week joint basic phase at Administrative Training School, Belgaum, were given trade training for 36 weeks at the Mechanical Transport Training Institute. These trainee drivers would join as mainstream drivers of the Air Force transport fleet located all over the country.

On arrival at Avadi Air Station, Air Cmde Karmaker was received by GP Capt CM Jaitly, Commanding officer, MTTI.
