AWWA Biannual Conference

While soldiers are on bordersmaintaining a vigil in full operational readiness, it is the wives’ efficient management of the home front that keeps them in high spirits and enables them to face all external challenges. This fact was emphasised by Mrs Roopa Padmanabhan, President of Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) in her inaugural address at the bi-annual conference of the Army Wives Welfare Association in New Delhi. She also laid stress on education of the ladies on security of information.

The wives of the General Officers Commanding-in-Chief of all commands who are also the Presidents of AWWA at their respective commands as well as ladies representing different formations and stations attented the conference.

Talks and presentations during the conference encompassed a large spectrum of subjects like ‘Balance Between Career and Home’, ‘Compatibility and Adjustment Lead to Successful Marriage’, ‘Work Opportunities at Home’ and ‘Need for AWWA to Undertake Commercial Ventures as an Outlet for Talented and Creative Members of its Organisation.’
