`Gajraj' Organises Sadbhavana Yatra

In the series of projects being launched by the 'Gajraj' Corps at Tezpur under operation Samaritan, 35 enthusiastic children of Morigaon district were taken on an excursion to Guwahati. The event was organised and coordinated by Army Camp, Jagi Road of 2 Mountain Division with the active assistance of civil administration.

The event was a success as was evident from the interaction with the participants on their return from the excursion. These children ranging from 10 to 15 years were from High Schools of Nelli, Boghra and Mayang. Their itinerary included a visit to Planetorium and Sankardeva Kalakshetra.

Mrs LS Changsam, District Collector (DC), Morigaon flagged off the yatra from Jagi Road. At the time of flagging-off ceremony, the students displayed their talent in the form of some entertaining songs and dances. The Army also organised an equipment display for the children. In her address, the DC hailed the efforts of the Army in the development of the district. She complimented students
on their performance and urged them to work hard for their academic pursuits.

Under the supervision of Maj Vinay Mullick and Lt Manik Chopra, the children were given a picnic lunch at Kalakshetra which was followed by an on-the-spot painting competition.
